Homemade crunchy granola pairs perfectly with yogurt, with extra flavorful taste from berries. My quick and healthy morning breakfast!
I need to admit that there are days I wake up late from turning off the alarm with the idea of “just 5 more minutes” (come on, we all do this, right?). So a quick breakfast is all I need and a granola bowl is the star that I want to dive right in!
If you have your favorite ingredients, even some leftovers, you still can create a feast for your eyes and a treat for your body in just a few minutes.
GRANOLA BOWL TOPPINGS
The colorfulness of all ingredients not only creates the food art but also provides better nutrients, so I usually stick with less for each item but more for the number of items. For fruits, fresh fruits, preferably in season for their best taste, can be paired together in any flavor combinations that you like. I love berries, especially strawberries and blackberries, some banana slices and usually mix them with other nuts and seeds, followed by a spoonful of granola. Other choices of fruits can be oranges, pineapples, apples, kiwi, watermelon, just go with what you like.
Add in nuts or seeds such as pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds (I love Cha Cha brand!), walnuts, almonds, unsalted pistachios or even chocolate chips. As I told you, there is no right or wrong combination, just what you like or want to experiment with.
One of my favorite parts of the granola bowl is granola and I am so obsessed with the homemade version. It’s versatile, not too sweet, snack-able all day and now it can be used as a quick and healthy breakfast. Add them on top of plain greek yogurt or mix them with milk, either whole milk or plant-based milk. You can get as creative as with these granola bowls and make them totally insta worthy 😉
