May. Endless days that are supposed to be early summer days. You’ll know it’s almost summer when the sun goes down pretty late, the days become hot while the nights are the shortest.
That’s my first thought when it comes to May. Last year, these days were so hot that the AC was running all day long in our house.
However, this year is a little bit different. The crisp is still outside the door and ready to blow up on your face that you would want to grab a jacket. If the leaves are turning red, I could feel the autumn right now. It’s like autumn is dancing in the summer breeze. The sweet chill of early summer days.
“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.” – F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
And when the weather is still wrapped up in its blanket while the spring flowers speak bliss to you, you’d love a hot cup of rose tea. And do anything you like. Spring and early summer days are perfect times to nourish our mind, body and soul.
Cozy up with some good books to read.
Or cuddle up on a couch with your favorite drink.
Give yourself permission to daydream so you can cleanse your mind of the worries.
Give your mind a break and step into a meditative or a sweating workout.
Or even do nothing.
Early summer days are precious, and I’ll just want to wrap up everything and get ready for a hot summertime to come.
